After five years of hard work, dedication and determination, we are incredibly proud to announce that Bradley’s Promise is now officially a registered charity! 🎉
This is a truly special milestone for us and one that means so much to everyone involved. What started from a personal experience and a desire to create positive change has grown into a charity dedicated to supporting young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Your support has helped us reach this incredibly important moment.
Five years in the making — and this is only the beginning. 💜
We are excited for the future and for the difference Bradley’s Promise can continue to make in Bradley’s memory and for the young people and families we support.

We want to say an enormous thank you to Hollie for all the incredible hard work and determination she showed completing The Lone Wolf Challenge on Saturday.
This was no easy feat — Hollie completed 12 loops, covering an amazing 51 miles, which is the equivalent of running two full marathons back-to-back! 🏃♀️💪
Through her outstanding effort, Hollie has raised an astonishing £612 through her GoFundMe page, and Bradley’s Promise has now received £596.91
(after fees) from her incredible challenge. We are beyond grateful for your dedication and generosity, Hollie!
Not only did Hollie take on this massive achievement, but she also became the very first person to ever complete a race in support of Bradley’s Promise — something we will never forget. 💜
A big thank you as well to Hollie’s mum and dad, and of course Ellie the dog, for their wonderful support throughout the event. It was a privilege to spend the day with you all — cheering Hollie on every hour and celebrating each loop she completed.
Bradley’s Promise is so proud of you, Hollie.
Your strength, spirit, and determination truly embody what our charity stands for. 💜
Another massive THANK YOU to the wonderful team at The Harvester – Arden Oak and their generous customers!
On 4th September 2025, your kindness raised £44.20 through our collection tin 🙌 We are especially grateful that The Harvester continues to support us by keeping the tin in place – every bit of spare change is helping us get closer to our goal.

🌟 A Huge Thank You to Rosewood Pets and Everyone Who Supported! 🌟
On Thursday 17th & Friday 18th July 2025, Rosewood Pets kindly opened their warehouse to the public, selling off stock to help raise vital funds for Bradley’s Promise.
This incredible annual event raised an amazing £3,000 in just two days! What makes it even more special is that the team at Rosewood Pets went above and beyond—after the first day, they weren’t satisfied with the total, so the staff generously decided to open again on a second day to raise even more. 💛
We want to say a heartfelt thank you to every single member of the Rosewood Pets team for their hard work and kindness, and also to the wonderful members of the public who came along and supported. 🙌
These funds are a huge step forward in helping us get Bradley’s Promise off the ground, working towards our registered charity number, and creating a safe place for young people to call their own.
Your support means the world to us, and together we’re making a real difference. 💫
Thank You for Supporting Our 2nd Bradley’s Promise Charity Walk
On Sunday 29th June 2025, we held our second charity walk in support of Bradley’s Promise, with 16 wonderful supporters turning out to walk with us. It was such a lovely day, with beautiful scenery and heartfelt conversations with people who wanted to know more about Bradley’s story and why I set up this charity. I want to thank all of you that attended;
Abbie Carr, Chloe Dresser, Poppy the dog, Gemma O’Riordan, Teddy the dog, Alleah Khan, Jasmine Bibi, Georgia Abbott, Blake Daniel-Ryan, Tracy Mole, Zoe Ketch, Annalise Hupfield, Michelle Bennett, Toni Bourne, Shani Manning, Rachel Rigby
I would especially like to thank Tracy Mole and her team of seven from the Co-op, who joined us on the day as part of the group of 16. The Co-op Funeral team holds a very special place in my heart. When Bradley passed away, he was moved from Marie Curie to the Central Co-op Funeral in Nechells, and later to Co-op Funeral East Meadway, where they took incredible care of my precious boy until we could be together again. That was the hardest journey I have ever faced, and I would not wish upon anyone the pain of losing a precious son or daughter to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
I recently went back on Thursday 3rd July to see the wonderful Co-op team for a cheque presentation, as they alone raised an amazing £470 for our walk. Going back was not easy, as my memories there are deeply emotional. I will never forget the comfort I felt when I first arrived to see Bradley, and a lovely member of their team, Julie, who had known Bradley from Acorns Children’s Hospice, was there to greet me with a hug. That moment of kindness will always stay with me, and I want to thank Julie from the bottom of my heart for being there in one of my darkest moments.
Altogether, our second charity walk raised an astonishing £615. This incredible support has finally brought Bradley’s Promise to the point where we can begin the process of registering as an official charity. I am so grateful to everyone who has donated, volunteered, supported, or simply walked alongside us to help make Bradley’s Promise a reality.
We are determined to keep this promise to Bradley — to be a voice for young people and their families affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and to support them socially, emotionally, and practically.
Watch this space, because Bradley’s Promise is only just beginning.
If you would like to help us continue to raise funds as we still need to continue to raise money, organise charity events, or join our team, we would love to hear from you — every helping hand makes a difference.
🌟 A Night to Remember – Thank You from Bradley’s Promise 🌟
We are beyond thrilled to share some incredible news with you all. On Friday, 13th June 2025, the amazing Hayley and her wonderful team at The Highwood Pub hosted a charity Karaoke Night in support of Bradley’s Promise — and together, we raised an astonishing £1,329.10 in just one evening!
This is the highest amount ever raised in a single night for the charity since we began, and I was completely overwhelmed by the kindness, generosity, and spirit of everyone involved. It was truly a night filled with joy, laughter, and community — all in the name of a cause so close to our hearts.
A huge and heartfelt thank you goes to:
💜 Hayley and her incredible staff — your dedication, warmth, and support made this night unforgettable.
💜 DJ Paul — not only did you provide the music and energy, but you also kindly donated your profit to the charity. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.
💜 Everyone who donated raffle prizes — your thoughtful gifts brought excitement and joy to the night.
💜 To the person who won the biggest Husky teddy in the "Name the Dog" game — we hope he finds a happy home!
💜 Aston Villa Football Club — thank you for donating the signed shirt with an official certificate for our silent auction.
💜 And a very special thank you to the kind individual who donated the signed Aston Villa picture — not only was it a fantastic addition to the silent auction, but it was also sold on the night, helping us raise even more vital funds for Bradley’s Promise.
Thanks to this incredible evening, we are now very close to reaching £5,000 raised in total for Bradley’s Promise. And with our upcoming charity walk just around the corner, we are hopeful that we’ll cross that amazing milestone very soon!
As I write this, I have goosebumps. These past three years of fundraising have been some of the most challenging and emotional, but this moment marks an exciting turning point — we are getting closer to registering Bradley’s Promise as an official charity.
This is just the beginning. We still need your support to continue fulfilling my promise to Bradley — to create a safe, welcoming space for young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. A place away from the isolation of their bedrooms, where they can meet face to face, build friendships, and receive the support they need and deserve. Especially now, when services are being cut and these young people need us more than ever.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you. Let’s keep pushing forward, together. 💜
🎉 We Have a Winner! 🎉
A massive congratulations to Meg, who won our £100 Spin the Wheel prize! 🥳
The draw was done live – and you can check out the video to see it all happen in real time! 🎥✨
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part and supported our bonus ball fundraiser. Your involvement truly makes a difference. 🙌
In an amazing act of generosity, Meg has chosen to donate her £100 prize back into the charity. 💛
After speaking with Meg, we proposed using the funds to purchase walkie-talkies for our charity walks to help with safety and coordination, and to use the remaining money to buy equipment for young people involved in our community project.
We’re delighted to announce that Meg was more than happy for us to do this. We are so grateful for your kindness and support – thank you, Meg! 🌟
This is what community is all about.
We’re excited to announce that our next charity walk will take place on Saturday 29th June at Sutton Park! Mark your calendars, more details will be shared soon.

A Heartfelt Thank You to The Harvester – Arden Oak
We would like to give our sincere thanks to the team at The Harvester, Arden Oak, for kindly hosting one of our collection tins and helping us raise £33.25 on 15th January 2025.
We are truly grateful to all the customers who generously placed their spare change into the tin. Every penny makes a real difference and brings us one step closer to reaching our target.
Your kindness and support mean so much – together, small acts of giving add up to something truly powerful. Thank you for standing with us and helping us continue our work.
🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You! 🌟

Bradley’s Promise Charity

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a rare progressive disorder. People with DMD are missing muscle-protecting protein. This is due to a fault in the gene producing dystrophin. Muscles to become weaker over time until it affects the whole body. It is caused by a mutation on the X-chromosome, that is why mainly males are affected.
First walking becomes difficult, then other motor functions follow and ultimately it affects the ability to breathe as well as the function of the heart, as the heart is a muscle too. The missing protein also has a function in the brain, so learning- and behavior issues can also be part of the disease.
In most countries, the average age of diagnosis of DMD is above 4 years of age and the diagnostic delay around 2.5 years. Parents see symptoms much earlier and some symptoms are already visible when the children are very young.
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is named after Dr Duchenne de Boulogne, who was one of the first to report the disease in detail in the 1860’s.
Important News
There are growing numbers of adults with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy living well into their fourth decade. These patients have complex medical needs that to date have not been addressed in the International standards of care.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Donna Alos at BBC Radio WM on Sunday 18th February 2024
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Donna Alos, the host at BBC Radio WM, for graciously inviting me onto the show to discuss "Bradley's Promise." It was an absolute pleasure to share our story and mission with the listeners of BBC Radio WM.
Donna's warmth, professionalism, and genuine interest in our cause made the experience both rewarding and memorable. Her platform provided us with a valuable opportunity to raise awareness and shed light on the important work we are doing.
I am truly grateful for the support and exposure BBC Radio WM has provided for "Bradley's Promise." Thank you also to Dan Richards for your kindness and for helping us amplify our message. Both of your contributions to our cause is deeply appreciated.
